European Digital HealthTech Conference 2025: Health Data Innovation

The third edition of the European Digital HealthTech Conference took place on March 25-26, 2025, at the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, bringing together key players in the digital health ecosystem. The event focused on the European Health Data Space (EHDS) and its potential to push healthcare innovation across Europe.

The European Health Data Space (EHDS) entered into force on March 25, 2025. The new European Regulation (EU) 2025/327 aims to optimize the exchange and access to health information within the EU. It wants to ensure that hospitals, researchers, universities, companies, and policymakers can access essential health data more quickly and easily while introducing new obligations for organizations processing health data.
This year’s conference covered crucial topics, including:

The collection, standardization, and organization of health data.
Opportunities for innovation through the expanded use of digital health solutions.
The ethical and regulatory challenges of utilizing health data for research.
Strategies to build trustworthy digital health solutions that are widely adopted by healthcare professionals and patients.

Mario Grotz, the new CEO of Luxinnovation, highlighted the agency’s role in driving digital health innovation. In its role as Luxembourg’s national innovation agency, Luxinnovation fosters collaboration, provides funding support, and connects stakeholders to ensure the country remains a leading hub for healthtech advancements.

The European Digital HealthTech Conference 2025 was the first of two major health-focused events in Luxembourg this year. The next key event will be Healthcare Week Luxembourg, taking place from October 7-8, reinforcing the country’s leadership in advancing digital health innovation.
