On February 27, 2025, waveL communications attended GOVSATCOM 2025, the key annual event for governmental satellite communications held at the European Convention Center Luxembourg.
The event convened key stakeholders from the defense, space, and security sectors, serving as a forum for discussions on secure connectivity and next-generation satellite solutions for Europe.
Notable participants included, representatives from SES, Govsat, NATO, Luxembourg Space Agency (LSA), the European Commission, Luxembourg’s national innovation agency Luxinnovation, Rivada Space Networks and Asteroid Foundation.
Connecting cloud and ground: In a fortunate coincidence and just across from the convention center, Google marked the inauguration of its new offices in the Grand Duchy at Luxembourg’s beautiful Philharmonie.
GOVSATCOM 2025 also marked a transition for Sasha Baillie, the outgoing CEO of Luxinnovation, who delivered her final address in this capacity before transitioning to her new role as Maréchale de la Cour for Luxembourg’s Grand Duke. We extend our best wishes to her and her successor Mario Grotz. Under their leadership, Luxinnovation remains a significant catalyst for innovation in Luxembourg’s economy, particularly in its thriving high-tech and start-up clusters and ecosystems.
